2006 Information (info from last summer)

The ECM Intensive is a career development seminar for musicians. In 2006 it was held from May 27th-28th in Boulder, Colorado. It exposed participants to new skills and entrepreneurial concepts that will enable them to approach their profession more resourcefully. It also afforded attendees the opportunity to have personalized one-on-one sessions with our distinguished faculty that included:

  • Dr. Angela Myles-Beeching, author of Beyond Talent: Creating a Successful Career in Music and Director of the New England Conservatory Career Services Center.
  • Liam Abramson, an internationally recognized musician/business consultant who has taught music business and career development courses at the Royal College of Music, Trinity College of Music, and the Royal Academy of Music in London, England.
  • Catherine Fitterman, Director Undergraduate Music Business Program New York University/Steinhardt School and founding Director of the ECM.
  • Frank Moyes, a distinguished entrepreneur/educator who teaches for the ECM and the Leed's School of Business at the University of Colorado at Boulder.
  • Dr. Judith Coe, assistant professor of voice and commercial music at University of Colorado at Denver.
  • Kevin Woelfel, a musician/entrepreneur.

The faculty covered topics including promotional materials, maximizing your market, raising and managing funds, time management and setting goals, and topics that the attendees chose.

Conference fees included two catered lunches, one dinner, between session snacks, two days of instruction by national leaders in the fields of career development and entrepreneurship, great networking opportunities, beautiful weather and gorgeous mountains, and two days that were totally focused on developing careers!
