EACO - Emerging Artist Community Outreach

Interested in getting some clinic and master class experience?
Want to build your teaching portfolio?
Need to test an educational program you have developed?
Maybe you just want to get out there and play!

The EACO program may be for you.

To be listed in this section, the following requirements must be met:

  • Individuals must be a current College of Music student in good standing. Groups must contain at least one member who is a current College of Music student in good standing.
  • You must provide an individual or group bio and picture (color or black & white).
  • A description of program, target age group, and any specific concepts or ideas you emphasize in your presentation (such as, if you have a specialty topic).
  • You must complete the one hour EACO Pre-Performance Certification Class (Insert URL to class description page).
  • Approval form must be signed by your main professor.

Here's how you get started.

  1. Email the EACO administrator (EACOadmin@ec4music.com) and let us know you are interested in the EACO program. We'd love to find out more about your project.
  2. Gather up your advertising and presentation materials.
    • Your bio and picture (we suggest MP3 samples for your ad listing).
    • A description of your program, stage or equipment requirements, teaching aids etc.
      • If you have teaching aids that need duplication, we can help.
  3. Discuss this project with your major professor.
    • Print the EACO Faculty Approval Form and have them sign it.
      • Why do we need this? It tells us the program/performance you have prepared is ready for public performance and that your professor supports you in this endeavor.
  4. Sign-up and attend the EACO Pre-Performance Certification Class.
    • Why do we need this? As a representative of CU, we want you to be prepared for the classroom. Many performance majors are grateful to get a few tips on classroom etiquette from veterans who have taught for many years. It's not a difficult class, but it can be helpful!
  5. ECM Now logoWatch the tutorial on how to use the ad-builder page. (Click HERE)
  6. Build your ad online using the ad-builder page. If you need help with this, contact the EACO administrator at EACOadmin@ec4music.com. To sign-up to create your EACO ad go HERE.

After you submit your materials, we will review the content and approve it for viewing. When an educator contacts us we will send you a copy of their request and, at that point, we can begin to co-coordinating the appearance.

Once the outreach is completed, we ask the participants to fill out the EACO Program Survey to help us make improvements to the system.
