Many CU College of Music students and alumni are developing new and innovative ways to do build their careers and lives. They choose to create their own opportunities and explore the benefits of taking their destiny into their own hands. The ECM supports this approach to career development and hopes you will enjoy the stories these students provide. (Click here for their stories)

We are also proud of our students who are now working in traditional music positions, but used the ECM to learn entrepreneurial skills that helped them land their current positions. Their success is a tribute to their talent, hard work, and the extra edge they afforded themselves by learning about their market, their unique strengths, and effective ways to communicate. The Center has also received many nice compliments from prospective and current students, parents, and alumni. (Click here for their comments)

OPPORTUNITY MAKERS

Three such individuals are highlighted in a special issue of our newsletter “Making It Happen”.

EDUCATORS AND ENSEMBLE MEMBERS

New College Hire

Dr. Kristine Hurst-Wajszczuk completed her DMA in 2004 and accepted a teaching position that fall. She had this to say about the ECM: “The Center helped me enormously during my doctoral work at CU. The Grant I won from the Entrepreneurship Center for Music made my outreach project possible, and in the job interviews I had, the committees were very interested in the fact that I not only had successful experience with grant writing, but also that I had experience in educational outreach. I feel certain that I’m where I am because of the services the ECM offers!”

COMMENTS ABOUT THE ECM

Thanks for the Time!

Ben, a prospective CU College of Music student and ECM user, had these kind words to share:

“Mr. Woelfel, thank you so much for the time you spent with me. It really meant a lot to me and I am glad to find a College where the staff care so much about their prospective students that they will sit down and talk with them about their futures. CU is my #1 choice and the ECM had a large part in that decision.”
